John E. Guerra
Owner/Office Operations
John has worked in the construction industry for thirty one (31) years. He took over primary operations of the business in 1988 and has delivered projects ranging from reconstruction and remodeling to custom home building. John received his B License in 1988 (#552107), and his HIC (Home Improvement Certification) in 1999. He has experience in every facet of the industry including framing, drywall, electrical, plumbing, finish carpentry, and estimating. John has been the estimator for KD since 2003.
James E. Guerra
Owner/Strategic Development
Prior to joining KD in 2003, James earned an MBA and worked for Accenture as a management consultant specializing in business planning and performance management. His experience ranges from small start-up companies to the Fortune 500 and spans across multiple industries. James also served as a property damage claims specialist in the insurance industry for three (3) years and handled all aspects of property claims. This experience has given James an inside perspective on the demands and expectations of homeowners and on managing construction costs.
Troy F. Rose
Project Manager
Troy has been in the construction industry since 1981 and shares with KD twenty-eight (28) years of working knowledge of all construction trades together with extensive project management skills. Troy has managed custom homes, remodels, room additions, kitchen and bath upgrades and commercial tenant improvements. He also maintains a vast knowledge of the insurance industry resulting from many years of handling fire, flood and mold damage insurance losses.

Erika Ordiway
Project Coordinator
Erika joined KD in early 2008. She is responsible for organizing and coordinating projects as well as key account networking. Prior to moving to California in 2003, Erika graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University.
Markéta Kosarova Accounting
Markéta joined KD in 2003. She is responsible for all back office administration including accounting and bookkeeping. Markéta is from Prague, Czech Republic and brings with her a fresh European perspective to help remind us of the importance of play. She has influenced our culture of encouraging our team to play, take vacations and enjoy flex time. Her hard work and meticulous nature allows our front office staff to spend their time focusing on our clients.
Jennifer Guerra
Office Assistant
Jennifer joined KD in 2003 as a part-time office assistant. Today she remains as a part-time assistant while working as a full-time legal secretary for a law firm in San Diego.
Edward M. Guerra Founder
Edward was born in New York and at the age of 18 he joined the U.S. Army and served for two years. In 1952 Edward left the Army and started his own construction company in Long Island, New York, called Community Carpentry. He served all of Long Island until 1971 when he and his wife Maryann decided to pick up their family and move to San Diego. Upon relocating to San Diego, Edward then received his B License (#360002), changed the name of his business from Community Carpentry to Budget Carpentry and served all of San Diego until he retired and handed over the reigns of the company to his sons, John and James.
