Frequently Asked Questions
Insurance Restoration
What does Konstrukt Development have to offer?
We have years of experience working with insurance companies to get your claim processed quickly and favorably.
The quality and efficiency of our work and the exceptional client satisfaction we generate is recognized and valued to the point where we are considered a preferred provider by most insurance companies.
How do I find a qualified contractor?
Most insurance companies will provide you with a vendor list of qualified contractors, it is then up to you to find & hire the contractor you are most comfortable with. Our recommendation would be to start with the BBB.
How long will it take to settle my claim?
This really depends upon the size of the claim and the insurance company handling the loss. Our recommendation is to stay in contact with your agent and whatever claims adjuster they may send out to see your loss.
Am I covered?
Coverage varies from policy to policy. It is important for you the insured to be completely clear about what is covered within your policy.
Do I need to file a claim?
It depends upon your deductible amount and the size of the loss. These two factors should help you determine whether or not you want to file a claim.
What is a Deductible?
A deductible is the amount of money that you the insured are required to pay, for repairs related to the loss, under the insurance policy. The insured chooses the deductible at the time the policy is purchased.
Do I have to use my Insurance Company's Adjuster?
Your insurance company will usually assign a field adjuster to come out and inspect the damage. They will then write their own estimate for the repairs. If you disagree with the amount or you are just unsure, you can have a couple of contractors come out and write their own estimate for the repairs. Usually the insurance company will then negotiate the cost with the contractor you choose to do the repairs.
What is a Public Adjuster?
A public adjuster is someone hired by you the insured to investigate and examine your claim, assess cost and value of the loss, and submit an estimate to your insurance company. A public adjuster works for the property owner/insured. Their responsibility is to provide the owner/insured the best resolution and negotiate payment for the repair, renovation or restoration. Please remember that these adjusters are hired guns and can get as much as 10% of the total estimate for their services. It has been our experience over the years that these adjusters are not always needed; we would suggest hiring them only if you don’t feel good about your insurance company.
What is a Restoration Contractor?
A contractor that specializes in repairing water, flood, smoke, fire, & property damage to your home or business.
What is the role of a General Contractor?
To estimate, schedule, supervise, and obtain any plans or permits that may be needed. To be sure your repairs are done within the agreed budget set forth by the insurance company and contractor. Depending upon the type of loss there can be many steps involved in getting your project from start to finish; this is the contractor’s responsibility. They should be your only contact once the terms are agreed upon between them and the insurance company.
Konstrukt Development works with you during the entire reconstruction process and will return your damaged home back to pre-loss condition quickly, within budget, and efficiently.
